I stumbled upon the 30DLBL project about two days ago…well I think it was in the middle of the night on Friday night. It was a perfect time to find it because I was having a very hard time at that moment…

I went through and I did what I thought was a good amount of the work, I did the life wheel, reflected on it, wrote about a paragraph about a improvements and then wrote a nice long action plan of things to accomplish to make this September a PERFECT September.

Saturday during the day turned into a much better day (already?) and I didn’t work on it any more, I figured that was okay because I had done the first three days already.

Or so I thought…I came upon a surprise ‘free time’ opportunity on Sunday, which was some childcare after church that I took advantage of and at that point, when I could actually focus, I realized I had NOT done three days, I had done all three parts of the first day!!

So far so good though, I am behind schedule however since I already started a few days late…with two little ones I’m having a hard time finding the focus required for the second day…I believe it will come at some point tomorrow though!!

I have gotten a lot just out of thinking about this month..it’s a busy one and finding ways to improve it is grand, my daughter’s starting kindergarten, my husband is turning 40, my daughter is turning 5, and yeah…it’s nice to have a lot of good things to look forward to and I have been able to act on a lot of these desires too as well as get my husband bought into those he can be a part of (like my haircut yesterday!)

I finally joined the bike team that is riding on 9/11 this year!! I joined as a “Virtual Rider” which means I will not actually be riding, I will be focusing my efforts on fundraising and promoting the event because my husband’s birthday is the same day and it’s a birthday divisible by 10 so I’ll be focusing on that on the day of.

If you are interested in joining our team which is being run by an AWESOME and seemingly tireless Suzanne please go to our team site and sign up! It’s a little late but you can do what I did and be a virtual rider still!!

This is our second event as a National Moms With MS Team, the first was earlier this year and raised more than $20,000 towards finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis.

MomsWithMS.com is an international site connecting mothers from around the world who have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis to compare notes and support each other through the journey of parenting with MS.

Kenzie and I just split our first red tomato of the season…it was absolutely delicious!! It wasn’t a cherry tomato but it was about the size of one. Other tomatoes on the same plant are bigger but still green. After doing some research <a href="http://www.farmerfred.com/tomato.htm>online we decided to go ahead and gobble it up, it did feel kind of ripe!!

It’s ironic too because at a grocery store trip earlier today I bought a bunch of meat and not veggies, telling myself “We have a garden, that’s where we get our veggies” yet I felt guilty at the same time…because I’m not so good about actually consuming the lovely plants we grow. So eating the tomato was a major bonus!! We saw there is another tiny green one growing next to the one we ate as well as one turning orange in our square foot garden too.

So we’re doing alright…just need to eat up some more of that kale!!

On my way to the local coffee shop where I get my most work done “Empire” is where I was headed and just after crossing MLK near the Columbia City lightrail station I heard it.

Crash!! Bang!! Boom!! Skiiiiiiddd!!!

I texted my husband, who was at home about equi-distance from the sound about the accident immediately and kept walking, hoping nobody was hurt.

About a block further I heard the sirens and texted him again “…and here come the sirens…”.

It was not until I got to the coffee shop that he called me, apparently he had heard the accident as well, and ran out immediately as he knew I’d just left the house.

He reported that there was a contractor, driving a pick up truck that had not noticed the signs and made a left turn on Dawson where people are supposed to turn right jug handle style and cross the street that way rather than a left turn. It is a lightrail right there, the Orca Lightrail that is new to Seattle and unfortunately for this man there was a train coming that he didn’t see.

He turned right in front of the train and was hit, dragged, and took out a lot of the guard rails there to protect pedestrians.

I’m grateful that I wasn’t hurt and that my husband was able to help. I hear helicopters now from where I am an already tweeted that the trains might be out for a while…I had one friend who was waiting for the train so I’m glad I was able to let her know.

Tonight is also Seattle Night Out which and so all our neighbors will be out tonight, we will surely have a lot to talk about!!

If I hear anything else I’ll post it in the comments or add on later!

Mom mom got this great book recently that combines the eastern and western signs to give a really fun overview of what everyone is like.

Personally, I am a Taurus Rooster, which is really funny because it describes me to a “T” just like the word Taurus starts with one… I really have been enjoying reading about my daughters and husband too…no surprises with any of them. I know we all relate to all that stuff but it really is funny sometimes.

It says that I can do anything, and it legitimizes my entrepreneurial urges from an astrological perspective. I hear baby waking up, have a good day!!

I was thinking about writing about masturbation but it took seeing a tweet from Kiyosaki about the number one market (still) being porn online to actually go ahead and do it.

I was not raised christian, or with any religion in particular but I believe it was infused in some way because after reading an article this morning about female masturbation and how taboo it is to put it lightly.

A friend of mine has ‘outed’ some of her sexual escapades with her book “Single Mom Seeking
” which is a great book that I can relate to in a lot of ways reflecting back on my single mom days of dating.

Back to the point though, I was thinking about writing about masturbating because I don’t think enough people do! I once signed up to be a consultant for a well known MLM that sells adult toys and props such as swings and lingerie but when it came down to it, aside from random leads who I didn’t know, I was too shy to ask any of my friends to host a party so I could sell some of the toys.

Fortunately at about the same time I signed up for that company I also signed up for Arbonne which is much more in line with what I promote and believe in which is well summed up by their “Pure, Safe, and Beneficial” tagline. I am very much in the process of detoxing my life and this has been a big part of it. All my personal care products such as shampoo, lotion, soap, sunscreen and even premixed shakes and fizzy tabs are all Arbonne, and I love to use and share them.

I’m not writing about that though, back to masturbation. I don’t know if it is the same for everyone but I know that for me I have at times been a bit jealous about the ease that men seem to be able to reach orgasm. It took me years of being sexually active to achieve this and while the first one I had was orally induced by my partner at the time…it never happened again that way. Sure all that my various partners since then tried felt very nice, but it didn’t quite do it for me.

So when I discovered vibrators, which happened in my teens but didn’t find the ones that for me could ‘do the job’ until I was in my twenties. I do not remember the exact age I was, but I remember it was a really good thing, and that I liked it very much.

Dildos never really did it for me, I found that they did help when being used in conjunction with a vibrator but alone they didn’t do much for me, not as much as the real thing though. If anything they made me laugh, because yes, I think penises look funny, and fake ones even funnier.

So, I was kind of disheartened in the ‘toy party’ industry for this reason too, I had such conflict!! See, my favorite toy is one that is really a “All-Body Massager
“that I bought off of Amazon at some point. It’s actually kind of a funny story about how I found it too.

Prior to finding my “PIB” (plug-in boyfriend) I was using lowly battery operated ones…and they tended to die at the worst possible moment that I found extremely frustrating. So one day, when I was with someone years ago, I noticed that when he used his clippers it made SUCH a loud noise! Later I had a thought that went something like this, “If it is that loud, then it must have a really powerful vibration too…” and that led to be ‘trying’ it, and with my hand I felt the power…and beyond that, I actually wrapped it up (yes, the clippers at this point) and it was great!! So I searched online and when I saw that the same brand had a vibrator and it wasn’t just for trimming hair, I bought it immediately and have owned one (at times two) since then.

So on that note…I’m going to sign off and walk out in this lovely sunny day we’re having. I believe everyone deserves to have a regular orgasm whether they have a partner or not and whether they want their partner involved or not if they do have one, it is up to us each individually to meet our needs in this area!!

Trying to figure out whether to send my baby girl to school this year or next is definitely a challenge!! I wrote about it in an article HERE but oh my, it sure doesn’t get any simpler!!

My daughter was deemed “definitely NOT ready”, as they put it in the letter, which was expected yet a surprise to the owner of the school where she is graduating pre-k here in Seattle.

It has been explained to me from a variety of sources that the school district pretty much isn’t allowing early entrance students. I got a phone call today though just hours after dropping off my appeal from the guy in charge who I had a long informative chat with, I really appreciate that he took the time to talk to me. He recognized that she is likely gifted, (I mentioned my Mensa status and he said that is part of why he called me back), and that for that reason, it might be even more of a reason to ‘hold her back’ as people call it until the next year, because to get into a program called APP, which is just above the Spectrum program that is for gifted kids, they are much more strict about the ages of the students in the program, and getting her in now would likely lead to repeating a grade later. For instance after attending 1st grade, entering an APP 1st grade.

I understand all of what he is saying, and it has me pretty convinced that we’ll be fine either way. More than that, he restored my confidence in the public school system. Maybe I have a fresh pair of rose colored glasses on but I believe they are putting effort into how gifted students are handled and so forth. I still don’t really think their testing methods are particularly good but I get the concept behind it all and I believe if I pay attention and advocate for my daughter when needed it will work out.

Next test is next week, so we’ll see how that goes.
