Personally, I am a Taurus Rooster, which is really funny because it describes me to a “T” just like the word Taurus starts with one… I really have been enjoying reading about my daughters and husband too…no surprises with any of them. I know we all relate to all that stuff but it really is funny sometimes.

It says that I can do anything, and it legitimizes my entrepreneurial urges from an astrological perspective. I hear baby waking up, have a good day!!

I was thinking about writing about masturbation but it took seeing a tweet from Kiyosaki about the number one market (still) being porn online to actually go ahead and do it.

I was not raised christian, or with any religion in particular but I believe it was infused in some way because after reading an article this morning about female masturbation and how taboo it is to put it lightly.

A friend of mine has ‘outed’ some of her sexual escapades with her book “Single Mom Seeking
” which is a great book that I can relate to in a lot of ways reflecting back on my single mom days of dating.

Back to the point though, I was thinking about writing about masturbating because I don’t think enough people do! I once signed up to be a consultant for a well known MLM that sells adult toys and props such as swings and lingerie but when it came down to it, aside from random leads who I didn’t know, I was too shy to ask any of my friends to host a party so I could sell some of the toys.

Fortunately at about the same time I signed up for that company I also signed up for Arbonne which is much more in line with what I promote and believe in which is well summed up by their “Pure, Safe, and Beneficial” tagline. I am very much in the process of detoxing my life and this has been a big part of it. All my personal care products such as shampoo, lotion, soap, sunscreen and even premixed shakes and fizzy tabs are all Arbonne, and I love to use and share them.

I’m not writing about that though, back to masturbation. I don’t know if it is the same for everyone but I know that for me I have at times been a bit jealous about the ease that men seem to be able to reach orgasm. It took me years of being sexually active to achieve this and while the first one I had was orally induced by my partner at the time…it never happened again that way. Sure all that my various partners since then tried felt very nice, but it didn’t quite do it for me.

So when I discovered vibrators, which happened in my teens but didn’t find the ones that for me could ‘do the job’ until I was in my twenties. I do not remember the exact age I was, but I remember it was a really good thing, and that I liked it very much.

Dildos never really did it for me, I found that they did help when being used in conjunction with a vibrator but alone they didn’t do much for me, not as much as the real thing though. If anything they made me laugh, because yes, I think penises look funny, and fake ones even funnier.

So, I was kind of disheartened in the ‘toy party’ industry for this reason too, I had such conflict!! See, my favorite toy is one that is really a “All-Body Massager
“that I bought off of Amazon at some point. It’s actually kind of a funny story about how I found it too.

Prior to finding my “PIB” (plug-in boyfriend) I was using lowly battery operated ones…and they tended to die at the worst possible moment that I found extremely frustrating. So one day, when I was with someone years ago, I noticed that when he used his clippers it made SUCH a loud noise! Later I had a thought that went something like this, “If it is that loud, then it must have a really powerful vibration too…” and that led to be ‘trying’ it, and with my hand I felt the power…and beyond that, I actually wrapped it up (yes, the clippers at this point) and it was great!! So I searched online and when I saw that the same brand had a vibrator and it wasn’t just for trimming hair, I bought it immediately and have owned one (at times two) since then.

So on that note…I’m going to sign off and walk out in this lovely sunny day we’re having. I believe everyone deserves to have a regular orgasm whether they have a partner or not and whether they want their partner involved or not if they do have one, it is up to us each individually to meet our needs in this area!!

Trying to figure out whether to send my baby girl to school this year or next is definitely a challenge!! I wrote about it in an article HERE but oh my, it sure doesn’t get any simpler!!

My daughter was deemed “definitely NOT ready”, as they put it in the letter, which was expected yet a surprise to the owner of the school where she is graduating pre-k here in Seattle.

It has been explained to me from a variety of sources that the school district pretty much isn’t allowing early entrance students. I got a phone call today though just hours after dropping off my appeal from the guy in charge who I had a long informative chat with, I really appreciate that he took the time to talk to me. He recognized that she is likely gifted, (I mentioned my Mensa status and he said that is part of why he called me back), and that for that reason, it might be even more of a reason to ‘hold her back’ as people call it until the next year, because to get into a program called APP, which is just above the Spectrum program that is for gifted kids, they are much more strict about the ages of the students in the program, and getting her in now would likely lead to repeating a grade later. For instance after attending 1st grade, entering an APP 1st grade.

I understand all of what he is saying, and it has me pretty convinced that we’ll be fine either way. More than that, he restored my confidence in the public school system. Maybe I have a fresh pair of rose colored glasses on but I believe they are putting effort into how gifted students are handled and so forth. I still don’t really think their testing methods are particularly good but I get the concept behind it all and I believe if I pay attention and advocate for my daughter when needed it will work out.

Next test is next week, so we’ll see how that goes.

Right now I am in the middle of an intense Leadership Seminar away from home, I’m with my husband and staying busy all day and most of the night.

When at a seminar like this, I really want to put my best face forward, and so this morning when I decided my clogs were better candidates than my cute flat gold slippers I wore (and suffered from lack of support with) yesterday.

So when I looked at them, my first thought was shoot, I wish I had gotten some shoe polish…the toes were all dry and kind of scraped and especially since I was wearing dark pants I didn’t want the lighter gray patches of the leather to be drawing unwanted attention.

Next thought…what can I do what can I do…there is a drug store and I did have some time at this point, but I also have some other to-do items that I would like to get done such as getting some food for breakfast, lunch and snacks and calling my sweet little four year old who has been asking when mommy will be home.

So I thought a moment about what shoe polish is…shoe polish is grease, it coats the dry fibers of the leather and makes them appear moist and supple again. Soon I was poring over all the items I brought with me to find the greasiest one…first things I thought of were my lotions, though as an Arbonne Independent Consultant I knew that while the moisturizers I brought were moisturizing, they were absolutely not oily, so I really didn’t think that was the best option.

Then I saw it.

My neosporin that I brought on a whim was sitting right there on the counter. I had used it last night to help my ears which were wearing earrings for the first time in a few months and my experiences of neosporin with bandaids often involved spreading too much on my/the skin making the bandaid unable to stick…because it was too GREASY!!!

So I took some toilet paper and squeezed out a bit of neosporin and dabbed it on, I paused to smile when I saw the dry gray part turn black once more and put on a bit more and rubbed it in as if it were the scraped knee of one of my adventurous daughters.

So I have my black shoes on, looking good and I’m ready to go run some errands, fashion emergency has been triaged, treated and released.

Another quick tip: if you are a nursing mom that has to travel I VERY highly recommend finding a hospital grade pump you can rent. As I am writing this I have the pump attached to me and it is a life saver to avoid engorgement when away from my sweet little baby girl.

My next tip might involve washing the lipstick out of the lighter pants I brought…I still need to think through a good solution for that one though, maybe face wash?

I wrote this in the comments of THIS article

I’m so grateful that I finally discovered my naturopath, chiropractor, acupuncturist, physical therapist, and masseuse.

I used to go to doctors offices to be told to wait, in fact it gets worse, I got a muscle spasm about a year and almost 3 months ago, days before my due date, and I could not turn my head so I:

Called my PCP and said omg I will be giving birth soon, any minute, and I can’t move my head it hurts so badly when I turn my head what can I do??

They took a message, then said, “There’s no reason to come in, he’s just going to tell you to take some tylenol and wait”

NOT, I was going to have a natural birth and I knew being unable to move my head was a problem that had to be fixed sooner, so I called my midwife and left a message.

Finally I decided to give my acupuncturist a call, he’d helped me turn my breech baby about a week before so maybe he could fix this? I sent him an email and within an hour got a response asking if I could come in at a particular time the same day….he told me all this himself mind you, I didn’t have to talk to a nurse to put me on hold to take a message or anything!!

I went to the acupuncturist where he used moxi, needles, and some deep tissue work on this tiny spot on my back and asked me to try and turn my head.

It turned, and it didn’t hurt.

I haven’t looked back, if the doc is as uncreative as this yet there are real ways to deal with problems that FIX the problems instead of masking them?? I’ll stick with the tried and true fix it methods.

PCP’s could at least study up enough on CAM to know what kind of Alternative therapy might help a person the most…hmm…wait did I just define the new PCP?

I hope so. They need to learn to look outside the box, to the east, the west, the kitchen, and outside in nature…then they’ll become closer to being more valuable than a signature to get drugs or other coverage.

After Laying Off 40% of It’s Workforce Ning Says Things Will Be Different

Yesterday after getting an email from my husband, who had gotten an inquiry from one of his colleagues about the ‘changes’ at Ning, I didn’t pay much attention. Said colleague was asking about alternatives to Ning because they were going to be charging soon, my assumption was that this was likely the result of going over bandwidth or something of that nature.

I was surprised later when I got the link to the creators community where the announcement was clear as day… no more free communities. More news to be released over the next two weeks, free community creators will have the opportunity to upgrade to an undisclosed payment plan or will have to begin their transition elsewhere.

Many of the replies to the thread where the announcement was made are full of anger, many creators have spent hundreds of hours creating their environments, others are bummed but acknowledge that it probably makes sense as a business decision. There are even some who have created many communities, over 20 in some cases, and their frustration about how quickly even a small amount would add up is understandable.

Most of the comments come to the same conclusion though, they are asking the question, “How much will it be.”, and this has not yet been disclosed.

As a Ning Community Creator I am hoping it isn’t too much, I have about 4 different communities the largest of which has an international membership spanning 6 countries bringing moms who have Multiple Sclerosis together. My hope is that the small premium fees I pay will be enough to keep it going, but I’m doing my research just in case.

For me and my multiple sclerosis a diet change is how my gardening life started. I have always considered gardening a luxury that if I had the time and money to waste I might have the opportunity to experiment with. I found out one day at my second visit to my new naturopath that I was not only deficient in just about every nutrient my body needs but that it was likely because I’m allergic to so many different kinds of food. Up until this point I prided myself on maintaining a healthy diet, lots of whole grains, vegetables, fish and that sort of thing. Up until this point I’d been very close to following the SWANK diet which is known as a very strict but for many people effective diet to calm multiple sclerosis. I learned I am allergic to dairy, almost all grains (including oats and rice!), eggs, nuts, and beans. After learning this my mind was further twisted when I learned I really had to increase my sodium and cholesterol levels because I was deficient in sodium and had not enough cholesterol to heal the myelin being damaged when I had MS flare-ups.

So how to eat?? At the time I didn’t have much money, and I’d recently had and was nursing my new baby and so I was hungry a lot, I was a part of the WIC program which was a joke because all I was eating from there was completely against my diet, as it consists of milk, cheese, beans, and cereal for the most part. Our house was under construction and we were living in my apartment when I realized that even though we weren’t living there I could use the yard to grow some vegetables in!

Over the last 9 months I have had 2 of my worst MS flares ever. I have struggled with anxiety, depression, and coming to terms with the fact that parts of my body may or may not be working the next day. When an early spring sprung here in Seattle where I live I was elated and went out into the garden and planted some seeds, this is a few weeks ago and the joy felt when each little sprout comes up (especially the peas and amaranth!) is almost overwhelming.

Arms and legs are tingly
Enough so I don’t drive
So I planted some seeds
In my garden we thrive!

Sprouts are appearing
Especially the kale
Blueberry bush flowers
Even baby snails

When thinning I don’t pinch
I gently ease them apart
planting some where they were
others in a new pot

First time planting amaranth
First scattering the seeds
Then planting little pots
So what they looked like I could see

Three little pots inside
Three more outside
Coffee grounds on all of them
Inside is where they thrived

Same as my daughters
They will likely soon be
Not only loving sun and coffee
But as tall or taller than me

My heart is open
Staying home is fine
Now my arms feel better, it’s funny
I still don’t want to drive
