Okay, well my strange toe fiasco seems to be just about over…yesterday I ‘treated’ it by walking a couple of miles with Kenzie and then with Kenzie & Hazel along Lake Washington. It was a perfect way to do it too because Geoff had some work to do so he just kept meeting us at the next potential stopping point and then we’d touch bases and then continue (which is how I got Hazel halfway through).
During and of course also after the walk, I made a real point to keep my toes warm…if it was Chilblains then that’s what they recommend so we found my slippers and I am keeping either those or shoes on at all times. I’d like to do this anyway but my slippers are lame to put on and take off, requires both hands so I hadn’t been, I’m dealing with it now and wearing them now though.
Also Geoff helped me make sure I only had one girl in bed with me to help me sleep better…it worked too so I’m really glad we did that. I had my heating pad by my feet too. My toes weren’t hurting so much, which I think was the main thing that kept me from sleeping the night before…and who knows, maybe had something to do with my swelling toes?
Last but not least I drank lots of water and also kind of avoided meat a little bit, which wasn’t a huge change or anything but who knows maybe it helped.
So walking, warmth, more sleep, and eating carefully, not sure which helped the most but something helped!!
