Moms With MS

Logo_MwMSAfter having my baby Hazel and also getting involved in a variety of local MS related empowerment/support groups I also had my first bad flare up. This along with some support from some local moms with MS that I found led to creating both a local meetup group for us to meetup as well as my big project which happened when I realized that the domain MomsWithMS.com was not taken.

I launched MomsWithMS.com on July 1, 2009. Since then it has blossomed into a very supportive online private community for Mother’s diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and has members from over 30 states and 5 countries.

I am in the process of making this site into a public resource for anyone who is affiliated with a Mom with MS or actually has MS as well, focusing on sharing alternative treatments, and finding sites that are more relevant to other under represented demographics.

Multiple Sclerosis is an auto-immune disease that affects mostly women and is usually diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, which are the fertile years of a womans life. Currently the drugs available to treat and slow MS are not safe for babies however being pregnant in itself does reduce the likelihood of relapse. Lots of missing pieces of information and representation in the demographics of MS in my opinion and so this is a site where we can all come together, power in number’s right?

If you are a mom with MS please join and if you are interested in the development of the public portion of the site please let me know and I will add you to the mailing list I’m in the process of creating.
